A couple from New South Wales, Australia, were very emotional after finding out they had won $20 Million Oz Lotto jackpot on Tuesday 2nd August 2022.

The lucky couple from Goulburn held the only ticket that matched all the numbers for the Oz Lotto draw- 22, 23, 27, 33, 38, 39 and 42. They purchased their entry at the First Inland City Newsagency, Shop B, 140-144 Aubern Street.

Additionally, the multimillionaire couple are Southern Tablelands residents and held the only Division One winning entrance ticket. However, the couple are staying publicly anonymous.

They were overcome by emotion when the win was confirmed by lottery operator (The Lott). The couple said they’ve not had the easiest life, so are looking forward to chilling out and will most likely will give up work immediately. Further, the couple described themselves as ‘Aussie battlers’.

“I’m in tears mate! Every time I think I’m okay, the waterworks kick off again,” said the man.

The couple don’t think they’ll make it back to work

“I don’t even know what to do with myself. Retirement is beckoning.”

Reliving the moment they found out about the win, the husband said: “I dropped into the store this morning to check my ticket and the team member gave me a shocked look.

“He said, ‘you might need to sit down, mate’.

He said he couldn’t wait to share it with my family. Overall, their aim is to set everyone up and make sure they don’t have to worry about a thing.

Jeanine Chatfield, the owner of the First Inland City Newsagency, offered her congratulations to the winners and said it was a great moment for the local store.

“I’m pretty sure everyone in town will be talking about it today. It will cause big excitement in the community,” she said.

“It’s pretty cool. We’ve very excited and very happy.”

She continued be saying, “We’ve had a bit of a winning year. We’ve already sold two first prize-winning tickets in Lucky Lotteries Super Jackpot, and now this!

“It’s great for Goulburn. It’s a big thrill for everyone.”

Oz Lotto made changes last May, with the number range changing from 45 to 47. Firstly, the minimum jackpot increased from $2 million to $3 million. Further, every draw now selects a third supplementary number.

The winners of the record breaking £184 million EuroMillions jackpot have been named. The winners from Gloucester UK , named as Joe and Jess Thwaite, scooped the huge jackpot on 10th May 2022.

Joe Thwaite, 49, and Jess Thwaite, 44, bagged the huge EuroMillions jackpot of £184 million. The couple were given their oversized cheque during a media event in Cheltenham on 19th May. They said their luck was ‘pretty terrible’ before this big win.

The husband and wife duo matched all five numbers, 3, 25, 27, 28 and 29, plus Lucky Stars 4 and 9, in a historic draw. They contacted the National Lottery immediately after the draw. After getting their claim validated, they waiting a few days before deciding to release their names to the public. It was a decision taken with consideration of their family and friends.

The winning ticket was a Lucky Dip that was purchased on the day of the draw by Joe. His wife did not believe him when he told her they won. They had to check the numbers many before truly believing they’d actually won. Before the win, Jess ran and worked in a salon, while Joe worked as a communication sales engineer. The couple continued to live their lives as normal while they waited for the win to be confirmed.

They told their family members as soon as the win was confirmed and received very mixed reactions. Jess’s mother ‘screamed in the car park and burst into tears’. Jess said her mum is a regular lottery follower and knew the jackpot amount, ‘right down to the 10p at the end’.

Looking towards the future

The Thwaites plan to take some time to think about their future. They describe themselves as ‘normal people’ who got very lucky. The couple bought their current house two months ago, which has plenty of room for renovation.

Lots of holidays could coming-up. The Thwaites have two children, and their youngest has always wanted to visit Hawaii.

Joe has made the decision to leave his job. Jess is not sure what her future holds, but feels it will be a ‘full-time job just managing all of this for quite some time’.

A retired fisherman, who began his working life at the age of 14, is planning to treat himself to a new truck now that he’s a millionaire. Clovis Roussel of Le Goulet, N.B. won $1M when he bought ticket for the Lotto 6/49 last week, and just claimed his prize from the Lottery organization.

“I really needed to see the money in my bank before I can really believe it and determine what I will do with the winnings,” he said in a news release. Roussel heard that someone in his village on the Acadian Peninsula had won the big million dollar prize, when his wife got a call from a friend asking if she knew who it was. The unexpected winner went to his local store to get his ticket checked, and found out he was THE Le Goulet’s big winner.

Then he went straight to his son’s house to share the news. Roussel says his five children are also in the lobster fishery and one of his sons couldn’t believe he was a winner. “I walked in and said to my son that I was going to buy myself a brand new truck and pay for it in cash because he could,” Roussel said. “He didn’t believe me, so I told him it was because I had won $1M.” He really thought i was making it up,’  he said to me. Show me the ticket, so his dad did, he took the ticket and he went on the computer to check the numbers for himself.”

Roussel is the 2nd biggest fisherman winner of the Lotto 6/49. In early August, another retired fisherman from the same village won $666,380 while playing Lotto 6/49.

A “Low-Key Lottery Winner” (self-named by the 67 year old) male winner has made a staggering claim to a financial agony uncle where he confesses to the win and asks if he was unfair to keep his millions to himself and hold onto all the money and not share a single penny. The Californian man has confessed to winning $55m (£40m) over 10 years ago on the lottery and hasn’t told anyone or donated any cash to charity.

The life changing figure would put the winner on a wealth level with some of the richest celebrities on the planet, but he admits to only buying a “new truck and a house”. Despite the winner having a living sister he admits in the letter to not liking her or her husband, and has concerns that she would make him give half the money to her church if she knew about the win; he not only didn’t tell his sister but not even his parents, or friends.  The 67 year old said “I know that my parents would not have asked for a thing, but I couldn’t risk my sister finding out and forcing me to donate half to her church. I have not donated money to anyone or any organisation”.

The winner hasn’t been able to fully enjoy the winning amount and claims to have had to keep a low profile – Buying only a new truck and a house, but told anyone that asked that he was renting the house.

“I am now 67 and very comfortable with my life. I don’t spend a lot. I have no children, and both parents have now passed on. I have not provided for my sister because I do not like her or her husband, and I have not spoken to her in over 10 years.

“She hopefully has no clue where I live; besides, my parents took her out of the estate before they died. She tried to do some horrible things to our parents, which I managed to put a stop to. Was I wrong in not telling anyone about my winnings?”

In a reply full of much wisdom financial agony uncle Quentin advised the winner that he should not feel bad he has not told anyone. Uncle Quentin did raise the point that he is surprised the man has remained anonymous in a state where the names of lottery winners are part of the public record.

He concluded by adding: “Enjoy your good fortune, and your privacy, as long as it lasts. Once the latter is gone, no amount of money will get it back.”The agony uncle suggested he will decide who he will leave the money to when he dies.

A surprised TattsLotto winner nearly lost her winning $852k prize by HANGING UP the phone on officials worried that she was being scammed, the woman was 1 of 7 division 1 winners in Saturday’s TattsLotto draw, She said the $852k money would go towards a new hoover that she’s had her eye on and treat herself to some jewellery, the winning numbers were 42, 2, 7, 28, 16, 30. Supplementary numbers were 22, 35.

After the winner from Altona Meadows in Melbourne’s south-west hung up the phone she went to check her numbers, she then immediately realised she did in fact hold 1 of the 7 division 1 winning entries in the TattsLotto draw 4159; She called the shocked officials back to apologise and explain that she had only just hopped out of bed when she answered the phone. ‘Oh my gosh, I am so sorry. I have only just woke up and I thought it must be some kind of scam or joke, so I hung up,’ she laughed. ‘I checked my ticket online just then and knew I had to call you straight back. This isn’t even registering right now. I can’t believe this.’ When asked how she would spend her winnings, the woman said it would speed up her retirement plans. Being in lockdown at the moment, the couple said that they can’t do too much in a way of celebrations, so perhaps get some takeaway and crack open a bottle of wine tonight,’ she said.

The winning ticket was bought at Central Lotto at Central Square Shopping Centre in Altona Meadows, the store owner was thrilled to hear about the win. ‘This is the 2nd division 1 winning entry we have sold in 2 months,’ he said. He also said he has sold 30 division 1 winning tickets over the past 20 years. ‘Congratulations to our winner. We hope this is the beginning of a very bright future,’ he added.

A family have landed a £1 million EuroMillions win -This amazing jackpot win can now allow planning to help transform and enhance their family life of their young disabled son who was born with scoliosis.

The Devonshire family, say the jackpot means they can buy a bigger house and car to help care for their youngest aged nine child, who also suffers from associated conditions, and needs hospital support and regular trips to Birmingham.

The win will also mean a bigger car for the couple, which will make their regular 300-mile round trips to Birmingham a lot more comfortable. Neil, 50, and Sue, 51, have three kids – and thought the win, after the draw on Friday March 5, 2021, was a joke at first, we just never thought we could win this kind of money to help us as a family.

Neil, who is a builder’s merchant, I don’t check after every draw only when i remember and only got around to it later on that week. Sue had gone to work, and the children were upstairs, so I thought I’d check to see if I needed to put on a line for the next week. When I logged into my online account, I immediately saw a message which said, ‘Congratulations you’ve won £1M’. “I thought no way and called my daughter to re-read it. We both thought it couldn’t be real, even though it was clearly on the official app. She posted on our family group chat that Dad had won the lottery and Sue came back saying it was probably just a fiver”.

Not discouraged patiently Neil was up early to open the local builder’s merchant where he works. “I wasn’t going to stay in bed and leave them in the lurch, what if I was wrong about the win?” Neil called the official claims line to be told you are correct you are a millionaire and, after letting Sue know the good news, he went back to work to complete his shift.

The couple admitted to being excited but remained very calm until everything was finalised and in their account. Once the money was cleared in the bank the following week, the pair popped the Champagne and celebrated their amazing luck. Neil said: “We’ve never struggled for money, we have always been careful, but this will make such a difference to us as a family. “While they will stay local, the new home means more space to support and help him as he grows up, entertain their grandchild and support their own parents as they get older.

Neil said: “People have said, ‘well done, it couldn’t happen to a nicer family’, that it is nice to see ordinary people win, which is all lovely to hear.

“But the win, and especially the new home, will make a difference to our whole family for years to come, and that is so important.”

A Powerball winner who is $50million richer nearly missed out on the winning ticket twice!!

A lucky mum purchased the Lotto ticket on Thursday in Maroubra in Sydney’s east, but very nearly didn’t make the trip out because of the terrible rain battering in New South Wales. She also didn’t register her name when she purchased the lucky ticket, meaning there was no way for officials to phone to inform them of her big win – It also means the new millionaire may not even know they’ve won, this then lead to a days long search and campaign to find her.

‘At the last minute, I had to go out so I thought I would try my luck.’ She said she forgot about her purchase until she heard someone had won $50million, so she checked her numbers and told her shocked husband the incredible news. ‘This is far too exciting; we are still trying to get our heads around it. It’s so hard to comprehend that we are now multimillionaires,’ she said. The woman said she and her husband were planning on buying a new house, provide for family members and then go on ‘lots of shopping sprees’.

The winning numbers were 18, 30, 16, 29, 6, 33 and 35, with the Powerball number 4

An amazing couple Frances and Patrick Connolly have given away about £60 million to help others around them to loved ones, charities and those in need during the covid19 pandemic.

Frances and Patrick, who lived in Hartlepool for 25 years, had said that their first priority was a list of around 50 friends and family to share their amazing fortune with following their big win on New Year’s Day 2019. Going against all the usual stereotypical champagne lifestyle that might be expected of huge jackpot winners, the pair have set up two charitable foundations: the Kathleen Graham Trust in Northern Ireland, where they are both from originally, and the PFC Trust in County Durham, where they now live.

The couples good deeds have included buying 1,000 or more presents for patients who will be in hospital on Christmas Day away from loved ones and handing out hundreds of tablets for people who found themselves isolated during the coronavirus lockdown so that they can still keep in touch and not feel so lonely.

Mrs Connolly is originally from Glebe in Co Tyrone and businessman Mr Connolly is from Belfast. The couples family consist of their three daughters and three grandchildren. Describing the past two years, Mrs Connolly said it had been an “absolutely manic whirlwind, and a total, total joyride from start to finish”.

The low-key happy couple, who were living in Moira, Co Down, at the time of their online “lucky dip” win, famously told how they had celebrated with a hug and a cup of tea, and vowed they would not become part of the “jet set” usual lifestyle.

Mrs Connolly said she had wanted to speak out now at the end of 2020 to help draw attention to the good work being done by so many people for charity during the pandemic. She said: “People need to be celebrated. Not me, not by any stretch of the imagination me, but by me talking drawing attention to the fact that, actually, we’re a nation of heroes without capes, up and down the country.”

Now living in a five-bedroom bungalow in County Durham – Set in five acres of land, with a tennis court and swimming pool – Mrs Connolly, 54, said they had turned down options to move to castles, as well as a grand stately homes one of which had 15-bedrooms and came with a village.

They also chose not to fly first class to New Zealand to visit one of their daughters, stating that they could have helped a young couple pay off a bit of their mortgage with the ticket price – instead opting for the comforts of business class.

Mrs Connolly said: “Patrick joked for years that if we ever won the lottery, he’d take away my mobile phone and never let me use the computer again because I’d give away the lot – But I’ve taken real joy from helping other people where we can espcially during such a tragic year for so many people.”

“We’ve no need for supercars, and I’m so proud that our daughters also drive second-hand cars, i would have been happy with a second hand Jaguar, as this is the car i have always wanted but we couldn’t find one so I treated myself to a brand new E-Pace Jaguar. It’s something that does the job, and there’s no need to be flash,” she said.

As well as running both charities, Mrs Connolly, retired from a career in education, helps her husband who owns a number of plastics manufacturing factories. When asked if the 56-year-old was not tempted to retire after the win, Mrs Connolly said: “He wants to keep people working. We’re too young to pack it in yet.”

On their list of family and friends to help were their daughters, Mrs Connolly’s three sisters and two brothers, and Mr Connolly’s three sisters. They also gave all their nieces and nephews money to buy their own homes.

Away from looking after relatives, the couple both flew into action when the pandemic rose to its peak, helping with much-needed supplies of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE). During this time Mrs Connolly bought new machines for a sewing group in Northern Ireland when she heard they were making PPE for health workers on the Covid-19 frontline.
