The Powerball jackpot has once again reached a staggering estimated amount of $1 billion, following the absence of a winning ticket in the latest drawing. This draw stands as the third largest jackpot in the history of the United States.

The next draw on Wednesday 19th July will hold its position as the nation’s third highest jackpot until won. The winner will defy the odds of one in 292.2 million.

Winners have the choice of receiving the $1 billion prize in yearly instalments or a one-time lump sum of $516.8 million before taxes. The largest Powerball jackpot to date was a massive $2.04 billion in November 2022.

In the latest drawing, three individuals won $2 million each by matching all five numbers plus the Power Play. The winning tickets were sold in Arkansas, Georgia, and Texas. Additionally, five individuals won $1 million each by matching all five numbers. The winning tickets were sold in Connecticut, Florida, Kentucky, New York, and Pennsylvania.

The most recent Powerball jackpot winner secured a top prize of nearly $253 million on April 19. Since then, there have been 38 consecutive drawings without a grand prize winner.
