The winning numbers which were drawn last Monday night were 12, 22, 54, 66 and 69. The Powerball was 15. The $699.8m was the 7th largest in US lottery history to be won. Her claim is being investigated by California Lottery officials, with the store’s manager providing CCTV video showed the women who purchased the ticket, she is also known to staff at the store as a regular customer. California Lottery officials have the footage, but have said that its not enough proof to claim the amazing winning money – Officials need a picture of the front and back of the ticket in order to allow a person to win without the physical ticket. Rules state that someone who believes they are a winner, must complete a claim form.

Spokeswoman from the lottery Cathy Johnston has said if someone has lost their ticket, they must also provide evidence they owned it in the first place, such as a photograph of the front and back of it. The $26m prize can be taken in annual instalments or as a $19.7m (£14m) cash option.

If the prize is not claimed, the $19.7m will go to public schools in and around California. The store that sold the ticket would have received a $130k (£92,000) bonus.

It is uncommon for large jackpots to go unclaimed, officials said. 4 prizes of $20m (£14.2m) or more have gone unclaimed since 1997, including a $63m (£45m) jackpot from 2015.

Lucky Lottery Player, Mario Martinez,  visited the California Lottery’s Santa Fe Springs District Office. He went to cash in a pair of winning scratch-offs: a Twisted Scratchers ticket worth $1,000, and a 50X the Money ticket worth $1 million.

Martinez bought both tickets from the Extra Plus store in Los Angeles. Furthermore, the store received a $5,000 bonus for selling the $1 million winner, the lottery said.

Martinez said he and his wife haven’t decided yet how they will spent their $1,001,000.

“We haven’t thought about it since we don’t have it!” Martinez said while awaiting his oversized Cheque.

UK Lottery Operator Wins Contract for USA State Game

Ending a years-long process of replacing its current management company, the Illinois Lottery today awarded its private management contract to Camelot Illinois, LLC. Essentially the same company that operates the United Kingdom’s lottery.

The proposed ten-year contract is based on a revised structure that aligns financial incentives and includes new permanent point-of-sale at retailers. It also has new games and a next-generation iLottery platform. This supports omni-channel lottery participation.

Additionally, the contract mandates transparency and regular audits. Camelot will reinforce the Lottery’s commitment to responsible gaming and social responsibility by pursuing World Lottery Association Level 4 standards.

A 14-day protest period now begins, and the procurement file will be available for public inspection on Friday, Sept. 29. The public may request access to the procurement file by contacting the Lottery’s Procurement Officer, Helen Kim, at helen.kim@illinois.gov. If no protests are submitted, or after all timely protests are resolved, a contract can be executed.
